Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Representative to perform start‑up, commissioning, installation, testing, and service for our equipment at customer sites. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, good judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while delivering clear updates to clients.

You will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and internal teams, travel up to 75% to regional sites, and mentor junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems preferred.
• 1+ years of switchgear start-up and commissioning experience.
• 2+ years related electrical/field service experience preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and support coordination with contractors, clients, Project Managers, and internal teams.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and internal teams to resolve field issues.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, corrective actions, parts usage, and follow-up items.
• Assist with training or mentoring Field Service Technicians as needed.
