Job summary

Lapmaster Wolters is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and service equipment at customer sites across North America and beyond. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate with customers, engineering, and suppliers to ensure optimal uptime and performance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment installation, maintenance, field service, troubleshooting, or industrial automation environments.
  • Experience commissioning and servicing industrial machinery preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Working knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, servo systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic components.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in the field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, commissioning, startup and validation of equipment at customer sites; interpret drawings and diagrams for proper installation and operation.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls issues; provide corrective actions and restore performance.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; coordinate parts and service activities with customers.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships; advise on improvements to equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Promote safety and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements; safeguard assets.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and industry best practices; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
