Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer Technician to install, upgrade, and maintain medical systems across customer sites. The role requires 80%–100% nationwide travel and 100% onsite work from either New York City or Kansas City, MO. COI and travel reimbursements are part of the role.

The candidate will operate within FDA and QMS guidelines while collaborating with multiple teams and maintaining comprehensive service records.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Mechanical assembly experience and ability to work with tools.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-up abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install medical systems at customer sites.
• Perform system hardware/software upgrades.
• Handle service calls and troubleshooting.
• Complete preventive maintenance services.
• Maintain service records for QMS submission.
• Manage travel and communications per schedule.
• Submit business expense reports per policy.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, QMS, EMS).
