Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service orthopedic equipment in hospitals across the United States. The role emphasizes on-site installation, diagnostics, and repair of complex systems with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and install large robotic-based medical devices, perform preventive maintenance, and create service reports according to company guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5+ years of field service or mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience with robotic-based mechanical products/devices.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of large equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, service, and repair surgical tables and related equipment at hospital sites.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Create accurate quotes and document service activities.
  • Operate table system to demonstrate equipment and analyze malfunctions.
  • Instruct customer staff in servicing and repairing equipment.
  • Coordinate with engineering on complex issues.

Job description

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is primarily responsible for technical support, repairing and servicing products (orthopedic equipment) in the field throughout the United States. The Field Service Engineer provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems, and performing preventive maintenance as required. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment, instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers' needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support representatives, or Engineers.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
  • Associates degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience preferably within Field Service Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working with robotic based mechanical products/devices.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, and installing large products/equipment. Essential

  • Support and promote company programs, contract sales, and initiatives as directed.
  • Create and deliver accurate quotes based on company guidelines and procedures. Clearly complete service forms for hospital through company established systems.
  • Operate table system to demonstrate equipment and to analyze malfunctions.
  • Instruct and direct workers at customer sites in servicing and repairing equipment.
  • Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
  • May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
  • Understand, support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements.
  • Support company goals and objectives.
  • Understand, follow and support internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality
