Field Service Engineer – Material Characterisation

Location: Belgium – Remote (Field Based)

The Field Service Engineer will impact sales of PerkinElmer by maintaining a high standard professional image and by demonstrating the added value of customer support. The role provides the highest levels of customer service support to the best possible financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service and routine maintenance using available systems alongside the Regional Group Leader, carrying out repairs, maintenance, installation and validation of instrumentation and accessories.
• Provide onsite user training on defined product groups.
• Perform service on behalf of PerkinElmer overseas offices and at sites of overseas customers as requested by the Service Manager.
• Ensure all documentation, circuit diagrams, Service Data Bulletins and manuals are of the correct revision for specific instrument types.
• Maintain ancillary documentation such as Safety Manual and Procedures Manual to the highest standard, regularly reviewing them in accordance with the Quality Management System.
• Align personal working practices with department performance targets and actively demonstrate compliance with all team targets.
• Maintain personal service spares issued and inventory records to the highest standard.
• Report and resolve all anomalies quickly and effectively.
• Ensure all tools and test equipment are adequate to perform required service and that all test equipment issued is calibrated at the specified times.
• Submit all fully completed service documentation, Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Claims, Motor Vehicle Log Sheets, etc., on a weekly basis.
• May be requested to perform specific and agreed tasks as defined through the Goal statements embedded in Company Culture.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Science, or another suitable or compatible discipline.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a related Field Service role, or similar field.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Proficient English required; good Dutch and/or French preferred.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with customers and colleagues on all levels, providing service information, technical data and general help as necessary.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Negotiating and influencing skills.
• Understanding of excellent Customer Service.
