Job summary

GE HealthCare seeks a Field Service Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on medical equipment across x-ray, R&F, and mammography modalities. The role supports installations and on-call scheduling, with a focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent military training plus 2 years of service experience, or a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant work.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field or equivalent military education and 2 years of experience servicing electronic equipment
• Or high school diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant experience
• Or a graduate of the GEHC Apprentice Program
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
• Experience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of products
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship
• Ability to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule including weekends
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment in a hospital or healthcare system
• Troubleshoot and perform basic service repairs on customer equipment
• Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and more complex repairs
• Proactively engage with team members to ensure customer solutions
• Maintain relationships with customers and ensure timely communication and follow-up to drive satisfaction
• Adhere to policies and document work daily, including debriefing and parts orders
• Partner with customer or sales to recommend value-added services
• Follow escalation processes to resolve customer issues
• Work location primarily Las Vegas with support in Kingsman, AZ

The Field Service Engineer is aware of and follows all Field Modification Instructions and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins. Works independently to trouble shoot and perform basic repairs on assigned equipment. Supports more experienced Field Engineers, both onsite and remotely, with installations while learning more complex repairs. Responsible for driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. The primary Modalities this FE will be responsible for will be Xray fixed and mobile, R&F, and Mammography.

Job Description

KKey Roles and Experiences

• Perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment with a hospital or healthcare system to ensure optimal delivery of healthcare services to patients
• Perform troubleshooting and basic service repairs on customer equipment
• Assist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and more complex repairs
• Proactively engage with other team members to ensure appropriate solution for the customer
• Maintain relationships with customers and ensure timely communication, resolution and proper follow up to drive customer satisfaction
• Adhere to company policies, procedures and hospital protocols to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met; ensuring documentation of all work performed is captured daily, including debriefing and ordering parts.
• Partner with the customer and/or the sales team to recommend value-added services that will help the customer run their business more efficiently
• Utilize the GEHC escalation process, as needed, and work closely with region and national support to define and implement corrective action plans to resolve customer issues.
• Work location: Primary Las Vegas and support in Kingsman, AZ

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical capabilities in Xray fixed and mobile, R&F, and Mammography.
• Ability to lift, carry push and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
