Job summary

Pace® Analytical Services in Columbus, OH is seeking a qualified Instrumentation Technician to maintain and repair HPLC, UPLC, GC and IC systems, and to perform qualification testing using established SOPs. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and customer-facing support.

You will calibrate systems, source parts, and implement improvements while ensuring quality databases and adherence to metrology standards. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or a closely related field and at least 3 years analytical instrument experience.
• Strong knowledge of HPLC/UPLC/GC/IC instrumentation and metrology standards.
• Experience with Agilent/Waters LC/UPLC systems and Thermo IC instruments preferred.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and solve instrument issues.

Responsibilities

• Provides maintenance, diagnosis and repairs of HPLC, UPLC, GC and IC systems.
• Provides calibration and qualification of HPLC, UPLC, GC and IC systems.
• Recommends and implements improvements to HPLC, UPLC, GC and IC systems.
• Sources and orders supplies and parts to ensure inventory of consumables and repair parts for instruments.
• Interacts with customers/staff to provide analytical instrument support and troubleshooting results.
• Follows SOPs and methods to perform work.
• Ensures accuracy of equipment records and databases through audits and reviews.
