Job summary

Hudson Lab Automation, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to provide technical support and on-site servicing of lab automation systems. You will commission, install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer sites.

You will train customers, document service activities, collaborate with Sales, and maintain spare parts inventory. The role requires travel, strong communication, and a customer-first approach to ensure reliability and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification or related experience.
Minimum of 2 years in field service or customer-facing support role.
Experience with laboratory automation products is strongly preferred (robotics, liquid handling, protein crystallization, colony pickers).
Knowledge of TCP/IP and RS232 communications.

Responsibilities

Commission, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Hudson Lab Automation systems in the field.
Provide applications support to customers and internal teams.
Triage and troubleshoot reported product issues quickly and accurately.
Document service case activities, issues, and resolutions.
Train customers in routine operation of hardware and software.
Develop customer relationships and ensure ongoing product success.
Contribute knowledge base articles for troubleshooting and service techniques.
