Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Service Engineer III to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair advanced analytical systems at customer sites. You will train users and ensure reliable operation across research institutions, universities and industrial facilities.

Role requires strong problem-solving skills, ability to read schematics, and travel up to 50% with safety and PPE discipline in laboratory environments.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree plus 3 years of experience or bachelor’s plus 5 years in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating analytical instruments.
• Ongoing technical training and certifications are required.
• Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage electronics is preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to build positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert installation, maintenance and repair for sophisticated analytical/microscopy equipment.
• Deliver on-site technical support and proactive preventive maintenance.
• Train users to ensure optimal system performance.
• Respond to urgent customer needs and travel as required (25–50%).
