Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Engineer II, Field Service to join our team. This remote-friendly role supports One Lambda (TDX) equipment with installation, calibration, and repair services across the US.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in engineering and have 3+ years of field service experience, with familiarity of Tecan automation hardware/software and strong problem-solving skills. Expect travel and customer-facing responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of field equipment service experience.
• Familiarity with Tecan automation hardware/software preferred.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, calibrating, repairing electromechanical medical devices.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Windows 7/10 and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Basic problem solving, installation, maintenance and service repair on designated equipment following technical service manuals.
• Completing Preventative Maintenance and Field Upgrade Modification per instructions (upgrades, technical bulletins, service manuals).
• Ordering and handling repair parts cycle times.
• Maintaining customer service logs and internal service records.
• Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
• Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring calibration.
• Meeting regulatory requirements (e.g., Health and Human Services, EH&S).
• Travel up to 75% and be able to cover any region as required.
• Work independently scheduling planned maintenance and on-demand services.
