Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring Field Service Engineer I to provide on-site and remote technical support for chemical analysis instrumentation within assigned territories. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate equipment, while building strong customer relationships and supporting field service colleagues.

Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and a desire to develop expertise across Thermo Scientific instruments.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for troubleshooting sophisticated analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to read technical documentation and service procedures.
• Experience in field service or lab instrumentation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Thermo Scientific instrumentation on-site.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration to maintain performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, optical, electronic, computer, and software issues.
• Provide customer training on instrument operation and maintenance.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Travel to customer sites, up to 80% travel as required.
