Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plc is seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to install, commission, service and upgrade advanced microscopy systems across North America. The role requires extensive travel and cross-border collaboration with customers.

You will diagnose complex hardware and software issues, train customers on workflows, and maintain meticulous service records to ensure high uptime and satisfaction. A technical degree and 3–5 years of field service experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 3–5 years of field service experience in microscopy or analytical instrumentation.
• Strong diagnostic skill set with hands-on hardware and computer hardware understanding.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license, passport, and be able to travel independently.
• Physical agility to work in confined or awkward spaces and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• System Installation & Commissioning of microscopy systems across North and South America.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance with diagnostics and repairs to meet performance benchmarks.
• Customer Engagement & Technical Training to enable independent operation.
• Advanced Troubleshooting of hardware and software issues with remote support as needed.
• Calibration & System Upgrades to maintain optimal throughput and reliability.
