Job summary

BioNano seeks a Field Service Engineer II to install, maintain and repair our complex whole genome imaging systems at customer sites and deliver first-class support to an assigned installation base.

You will collaborate with regional and global teams, complete installation/maintenance reports, manage parts, and travel up to 60% including international trips as needed. A background in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Biosciences is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience aligning and troubleshooting imaging systems or related devices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a valid passport or ability to obtain one within 3 months.
• Based near a major airport.

Responsibilities

• Perform Saphyr and Straty s installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex instrument faults minimizing downtimes.
• Maintain regular communication with customers/internal partners ensuring resolution and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with regional and global FSE, FAS, Sales, Development and Technical Support personnel.
• Provide timely and accurate installation/maintenance reports, parts ordering/returns and expense reporting.
• Provide technical feedback and design suggestions for product improvement.
