Job summary

OPTEL seeks an experienced field service professional to install and commission OPTEL systems at client sites, perform maintenance, and provide training and technical support. Travel to client locations is required, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

A college diploma in electronics or related field is preferred, along with fluency in French and English. The role demands hands-on diagnostics, problem-solving, and the ability to work under pressure while

Qualifications

• College diploma in electronics, computer science, electromechanics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge in computer science and electronics.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetics industries (asset).
• Hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong client orientation and solid teamwork skills.
• Resourcefulness, adaptability, versatility, and flexibility.
• Availability to travel approximately three weeks per month.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• High curiosity and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.
• Fluency in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Install OPTEL systems at client sites per standards.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical installation while ensuring quality.
• Collaborate with support and design teams to diagnose issues.
• Train end-users on system use.
• Prepare installation reports.
• Support clients during system qualification.
• Perform maintenance and repair on installed systems as requested.
• Produce detailed service reports.
• Identify potential sales opportunities (new contracts, complementary systems).
