Job summary

KONE is seeking a Service Engineer in Davie, FL to diagnose and repair elevator systems on-site, including on-vessel scenarios. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or 7+ years’ equivalent) and extensive hands-on experience with PCB debugging, elevator diagrams, and control systems.

Qualifications

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, with 3+ years in a related role.
• 3 years of debugging PCB assemblies, wiring harnesses, and electromechanical systems.
• 3 years reading and interpreting marine elevator diagrams for field support.
• 3 years identifying European elevator spare parts to ensure availability.
• 3 years working with motion/closed-loop controls on elevators for on-site troubleshooting.
• 3 years with analog/digital interface control on elevators for on-site fixes.
• 2 years of performing annual inspections of European elevators to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site technical liaison for marine vessel elevator systems and site safety.
• Resolve complex elevator issues, including commissioning certifications and troubleshooting.
• Perform first visits of unknown equipment from competitors or KONE.
• Assist in installation/maintenance handover and communicate safety concerns.
• Identify technical competence gaps and coordinate with supervisor and helpdesk.
• Provide feedback to reduce call-outs and improve repair efficiency.
• Plan workload with service supervisor and maintain safe practices.
