Job summary

KONE is seeking a Service Engineer in Davie, FL to execute on-site maintenance for elevators and escalators, including diagnostics, troubleshooting and commissioning. You will coordinate with the service supervisor and provide expert field support on complex systems while ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electro-Mechanical engineering and at least 3 years of related experience, with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in de-bugging PCB assemblies, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical systems.
• 3 years of experience reading and interpreting marine elevator diagrams for field support.
• 3 years of experience identifying European elevator spare parts requirements for maintenance.
• 3 years of experience with motion and closed loop controls on elevators for on-site troubleshooting.
• 3 years of experience with analog and digital interface control on elevators for on-site troubleshooting.
• 2 years of experience performing annual inspections of European elevators to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for end-user communication on-site, safety, and service quality.
• Resolve complex elevator/escaltor issues including commissioning certifications and troubleshooting.
• Perform first visits of unknown equipment from competitors or KONE.
• Assist supervisor with installation maintenance handovers and evaluations.
• Identify new technical issues and communicate safety implications to teams.
• Address competence gaps related to new equipment and communicate to supervisor.
• Provide feedback to reduce repair needs and call-outs with technical helpdesk.
• Ensure safe working practices and adherence to maintenance instructions.
• Plan workload in coordination with the service supervisor.
• Contribute to product and process improvements with the Service Manager.
