Job summary

Lightship, the first American all-electric recreational vehicle manufacturer, seeks a Field Service Engineer to be the primary technical resource for our customer fleet. You'll diagnose complex issues, travel to on-site locations across the US, and help build our service infrastructure from the ground up.

Reporting to the Director of Service within Operations, you will develop procedures, collaborate with engineering and manufacturing, and contribute to remote diagnostics and scalable customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 3+ years in a technical role, preferably with EVs, RVs, or electromechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical test equipment and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts.
• Travel up to 70–80% initially; expect 30–40% once network scales.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical support resource for the customer fleet, diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Travel to provide on-site customer support across US locations.
• Develop and document service procedures, troubleshooting guides, and repair protocols for electric drivetrain, battery systems, and RV components.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to implement product improvements from field data.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and create a knowledge base for scalable support.
• Analyze service data to identify trends and preventive measures.
• Assist in establishing service center requirements and dealer capabilities.
• Contribute to remote diagnostic tools and procedures.
