Job summary

Verder Scientific Inc. in Newtown, PA seeks a Field Service Engineer for Carbolite furnaces and ovens. You will provide on-site service, commissioning, troubleshooting and parts support, building lasting customer relationships.

Travel up to 60% is required; a bachelor’s degree in electrical or systems engineering and experience with HV, vacuum and PLC systems are essential. Strong MS Office skills and the ability to read schematics are expected.

Your responsibilities as Field Service Engineer - Carbolite:

• Customer Support Excellence: Provide customer support through troubleshooting via phone, email, and onsite for all Carbolite furnaces and ovens.
• Commissioning: Perform onsite commissioning of new equipment.
• Repair and maintenance: Conduct in-house troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment, including VSUS lab units.
• Quoting and spare parts: Utilize CRM and ERP systems to generate accurate service and component quotations.
• Networking and communication: Maintain strong communication with key account personnel and end users while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.

As Field Service Engineer for Carbolite, you are a perfect match if:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent.
• Work Experience: High voltage electrical systems, vacuum systems, and PLC systems, is required; possess an understanding of mechanical systems, including mechanical assembly.
• Technical Skills: Must have strong knowledge of vacuum systems, familiarity with leak detection equipment, rotary pump maintenance, and the ability to safely work on high voltage three-phase systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading electrical and gas schematics, technical drawings, and working with tools such as multi-meters and clamp meters is essential.
• Communication abilities: Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are required.
• Additional information: Must be available to travel up to 60%
