Job summary

Verder Scientific Inc. in Newtown, PA, is seeking a Retsch Service Engineer (m/f/d) for a hands-on, long-term role in a growing high-tech company. You will deliver technical support, perform on-site and in-house repairs, and maintain equipment under contract to ensure peak performance.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s Degree in a technical field or 3+ years in maintenance, strong electrical/wiring skills, and experience with CRM/ERP and Microsoft Office. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a technical field or 3+ years in maintenance/service in lab/industrial setting.
• Experience with CRM and ERP systems; proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings; mechanical systems understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support via phone and email; perform in-house troubleshooting and repairs.
• Manage preventive maintenance contracts; ensure equipment operates at peak performance.
• Prepare accurate spare parts quotations and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Your Primary Responsibilities As Retsch Service Engineer (m/f/d)

• Customer Support Excellence: Be the go-to expert for our customers—resolving technical queries via phone and email, and performing in-house troubleshooting and repairs to keep critical equipment running smoothly.
• Contract & Equipment Care: Take ownership of preventative maintenance contracts, ensuring both Verder Scientific lab units and customer equipment operate at peak performance.
• Quoting & Relationship Building: Prepare accurate spare parts quotations while fostering strong, trusted relationships with key accounts and end users.
• Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organized workspace that supports quality and safety.

As Retsch Service Engineer you're a perfect match, if...

• Technical Foundation: An Associate’s Degree in a technical field, or at least 3 years of hands-on experience as a maintenance/service technician in a lab or industrial environment.
• Practical Expertise: Confidence working with single and three-phase wiring; experience using tools such as multimeters and clamp meters; ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings; and a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
• Digital & System Skills: Sound experience with CRM and ERP systems is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Professional Strengths: Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
