Job summary

Velo3D in Houston, TX is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, repair, upgrade and service our 3D printers and related equipment at customer sites, blending hands-on troubleshooting with customer interaction.

You will test, calibrate, assemble sub-assemblies, interpret schematics, perform preventative maintenance, train customers, and document activities, while collaborating with engineering to improve products.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in operating and maintaining complex machinery in lab/manufacturing.
• Independent, self-directed with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Test, operate, and maintain 3D printers and related equipment.
• Assemble and test mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical sub-assemblies.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues.
• Repair equipment using hand tools and test instruments; replace parts as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering to test, tune, upgrade, and improve products.
• Install and commission equipment according to specifications.
• Provide training to customers and coworkers.
