Agilent is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support security and detection customers through on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of systems. The role requires 4–5 field days per week with travel, and is onsite in Little Falls, DE when not traveling.

The successful candidate will diagnose performance issues, advise on preventive maintenance, and collaboratively work with Support, Sales, Marketing, and R&D to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in physical science or engineering or similar/equivalent experience.
  • Must have 4+ years in a similar field service role or customer-facing position.
  • Ability to obtain and hold security clearance; valid US passport.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
  • Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configurations
  • Respond to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruptions
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions including peripherals, communications, OS and apps
  • Serve as internal technical resource and manage escalations
  • Collaborate with Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions
  • Deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars/workshops
  • May calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers

Overview of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to be responsible for supporting our security and detection customers through on-site activities such as installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of systems. This may include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems.

You will spend 4-5 days per week in the field visiting customers. As this role will cover our aviation and airport customers, this position is onsite in Little Falls, DE when not travelling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance
  • Proactively respond to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business
  • Deliver (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software
  • Serve as an internal resource on technical issues and manage product escalations
  • Collaborate with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers
  • May deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers
  • May calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in physical science or engineering or similar/ equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience in a similar role, as a service technician, process engineer or in a customer-facing field position
  • Must be able to obtain and hold security clearance to gain access to customer sites
  • Must have a valid passport to gain access to government sites
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Must be able to travel up to 75% overnight
  • Spectroscopy experience highly desirable
Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least September 17, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $43.12 - $67.37/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
