This position reports to

Field Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute work to meet assigned objectives. Responsibilities include performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment. The work model for the role is: #LI - Remote. This role contributes to the Electrification Service Division in Neenah, WI - Central area. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Communicating with internal and external customers via phone/email to schedule jobs, order materials, and complete safety analysis and paperwork before starting work.
• Conducting work activities in compliance with ABB HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety policies at all times.
• Executing projects involving startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, relays, and other power-related equipment.
• Participating in outages with other engineers, technicians, and contractors, including project management and site leadership.
• Completing administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job and expense reports thoroughly and promptly.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience or equivalent (e.g., military service).
• Ability to handle/move circuit breakers and equipment weighing hundreds of pounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75%, with a valid passport and driver's license.
• Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the area is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of power distribution equipment, including LV and MV breakers, switchgear, relays, and transformers.
• Experience with repair and refurbishment of OEM circuit breakers and relays is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing and troubleshooting of medium voltage machines and control systems are a plus.
• Must have valid work authorization for ABB in the US.
