Job summary

The Judge Group, INC. is seeking a field service engineer to install, maintain, and train customers on proprietary packaging machinery. You will diagnose issues on-site and remotely, program components, and run FATs to ensure quality and performance.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical skills, 5+ years of field service with a related degree, and a valid driver’s license. Expect 50% domestic travel and opportunities for overtime and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell automation software and integration across hardware, software, and controls.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background in industrial packaging machinery.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Program components and run Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
• Assist with commissioning, start-up, and preventive maintenance of new equipment.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and quality teams to report upgrade opportunities.
• Produce detailed service reports and maintain technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Support spare parts identification, ordering, and inventory management.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.

Required Competencies & Qualifications

• Technical Experience: Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation software; integration experience across hardware, software, and controls preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong mechanical and electrical background with industrial packaging machinery.
• Education & Experience:
  • HS Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Engineering fields with 10+ years of field service experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical fields with 5+ years of field service experience.
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Travel: Minimum 50% domestic travel required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, climb ladders, stand, stoop, kneel, and perform heavy lifting (unassisted up to 100 lbs., average lift under 20 lbs.).
• Environment: Exposure to client facilities across food, agriculture, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical industries. Standard office environment when on-site at headquarters.

Position Type & Schedule

• Full-time, salaried non-exempt role with overtime requirements.
• Standard hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Weekend work includes bonus pay.
