Job summary

Nikon Precision Inc. (NPI) in Chandler, AZ is seeking Field Service Engineers to install, service and maintain Nikon lithography tools at customer sites. This role requires on-site visits, client interaction, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires electronics and/or mechanical engineering background with hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of optics and pneumatics is preferred.

Job description

Nikon Precision Inc. (NPI) is a leading supplier of semiconductor production and inspection equipment. Our state‑of‑the‑art photolithography equipment images sub‑micron geometries onto various substrates for the manufacture of integrated circuits, LCD panels, and other applications. Our tools help manufacture the heart of most consumer electronics on the market today, including computer hard drives, non‑volatile memory, smartphones, GPS units, and other emerging technical products.

Location: Chandler, AZ

Position Type: Full Time Regular

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt, eligible for overtime

Salary Range: Posted salary range is entry level, actual compensation depends on experience

Schedule: Compressed Shift

Environment: Cleanroom Environment (more than 50% of the time)

Travel: Domestic and International Travel may be Required (<10%)

Position Overview

Field Service Engineers (FSE) provide onsite customer service and support at our customer facilities. Job responsibilities include equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance of complex lithography tools. Our FSEs work with the customer to ensure optimal performance of the Nikon equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all routine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on Nikon equipment, including interpreting schematics, mechanical diagrams, and discerning data from diagnostic programs.
  • Provide on‑site service for the customer as detailed in the service agreement.
  • Install or relocate customer equipment and perform associated start‑up and check‑out procedures.
  • Report and communicate technical issues and provide feedback on technical documentation.
Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of Electronics and/or Mechanical Engineering, typically Associates or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or relevant other experience such as Military, automotive, equipment maintenance, etc.
  • Knowledge/experience in Optics and Pneumatics.
  • Practical “hands‑on” ability.
  • Self‑motivated to learn on the job.
  • Proficient in the use of common electronic diagnostic equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, etc.).
  • Self‑starter demonstrating technical competence of electrical, mechanical, and optical systems or subsystems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with co‑workers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Previous experience with Nikon systems is strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of Photolithography and Semiconductor processing an advantage.
  • Japanese language proficiency is a bonus.
