Job description

When a plant manager calls because a machine that ran fine yesterday won’t run today, we’re the ones who show up. You’d be the first responder — the one who walks in, finds the problem, and gets the line back up.

What You’ll Actually Do

You handle emergency & scheduled service calls, pull program backups, and solve the classic “it worked yesterday” failures on a wide range of industrial equipment. You show up prepared, diagnose fast, and fix it. If something needs deeper rebuild work — corrupted programs or from‑scratch rewrites — a Field Service Controls Engineer is a call away to back you up. When you’re not on‑site, you work from home on documentation, drawings, and sharpening your skills.

What We Need From You
  • 2+ years of industrial troubleshooting experience with a DMM, laptop, and basic electrical test equipment
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites around the region and occasionally further on short notice
  • Roughly one on‑call weekend per month, plus occasional after‑hours response
  • Strong reading comprehension — you can learn from a technical manual and run with it
  • Clear, professional communication with customers and consistent, same‑day field paperwork
  • A professional, positive attitude and the discipline to work without someone looking over your shoulder
How We Work

We don’t invent busywork to fill 40 hours. If your paperwork’s caught up, your projects are on schedule, and there’s no active call, your time is yours. In exchange, we run on the 15‑Minute Rule: when an emergency call comes in, you respond within 15 minutes during normal business hours and roll out. You’re paid for your skill and your availability — not for clock‑watching.

What You Get
  • Base salary + quarterly bonus tied to the value you deliver
  • A field‑ready laptop pre‑loaded with licensed VMs for major PLC platforms, plus premium diagnostic gear (Fluke meters, comm adapters, specialty cables)
  • Vehicle program: mileage reimbursement + company EZ‑Pass
  • 401(k) and health insurance
  • Home most nights — this is regional field work, not the road‑warrior life
