Job summary
nVenia is seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial automation systems on customer lines. This role requires extensive travel to sites across North America and internationally, serving as the primary electrical controls expert with PLC programming, HMI, servo motion, and machine integration responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and related automation
Qualifications
- Associate degree in electrical engineering tech, mechatronics or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial automation troubleshooting experience.
- Minimum 3 years of Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience.
- Experience with packaging, robotics or manufacturing equipment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues at customer sites.
- Modify and optimize PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Horner, Mitsubishi, GE Fanuc).
- Support commissioning and startup of new equipment installations.
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Travel to customer sites across North America and internationally.
- Train customer maintenance and operations personnel on controls.
- Complete detailed service reports with findings and recommendations.
- Identify upgrades, retrofits and preventive maintenance opportunities.
