Job summary

Root Edge seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead on-site technical execution for islanded, data-center scale deployments powered by renewables in West Texas. You will drive designs from engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and energization to COD, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality accountability with Engineer of Record and EPC partners.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering or equivalent field experience.
• 7+ years delivering utility-scale solar, battery storage, or large infrastructure projects.
• Ownership of construction and commissioning through COD on at least one project.
• Ability to read and hold EPC contracts, equipment specs, and IFC drawings.
• Experience with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA standards relevant to PV and storage.

Responsibilities

• Own the full technical arc of each deployment from design through commissioning and operation.
• Coordinate 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC engineering packages with multiple parties.
• Develop scopes of work, deliverables, and RACI matrices for LNTP, EPC, and owners engineering.
• Maintain design basis, standard specs, and a lessons learned repository.
• Support major equipment selection for battery storage, PV inverters, MV switchgear, and BOS.
• Review vendor proposals and support contract execution.
• Monitor estimates against design basis and flag misalignments.
• Assist technical due diligence with Independent Engineers for project finance.
