Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Service Technician to diagnose and repair card access, CCTV, and related building systems at customer sites. You will provide top-tier service, interpret blueprints and manuals, and communicate solutions to optimize facility performance.

The role requires reliability, strong customer focus, and occasional travel, with pay aligned to union-negotiated rates. This position offers on-site work, a union-supported benefits structure, and opportunities to upsell

Qualifications

3+ years documented experience with card access and CCTV.
Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
Experience installing, inspecting, repairing, and programming card access and CCTV.
Fire alarm experience is a plus.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
Able to work flexible hours including weekends and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on card access, CCTV, burglar alarm, and related building systems at customer sites.
Provide high level service to solve building inefficiencies and respond as a trusted advisor.
Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals to repair equipment.
Read blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and manuals to support installations.
Provide quotes and recommendations to improve facility efficiency.
Maintain truck inventory and be available for on-call emergency service.
