Job summary

GR Metrology is seeking a motivated Scale Service Technician to provide calibration, maintenance, and repair services for industrial scales throughout the Midwest. This field role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, independence, and building trusted customer relationships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical, electronic, and/or technical experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong computer proficiency with calibration and service management software.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with ability to pass MVR.
• Ability to obtain Class B CDL if required.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite and in-shop preventive maintenance on industrial scales and weighing systems.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and verify performance of scales.
• Diagnose equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare for service visits by reviewing work orders and required tools.
• Document services, calibration data, repairs, and findings using company software.
• Generate calibration reports and Certificates of Calibration.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good condition.
• Travel to customer facilities and provide timely field service support.
• Respond to emergency service calls and work overtime when needed.
• Promote safety, quality, and professionalism on every job.
