Job summary

Kanawha Scales & Systems, LLC. is seeking a field service technician to install, calibrate, and repair industrial scales across varied environments. You will diagnose issues, service load cells and indicators, and maintain accurate records while communicating effectively with clients.

The role demands physical capability, adherence to standards like ISO 9001 and NIST Handbook 44, and a commitment to safety. CDL is a plus and welding experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, calibrating, and repairing scales.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and NIST Handbook 44 standards.
• Proficiency with calibration and measurement equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.
• Valid driver’s license; Class B (or A) CDL is a plus.
• AC/DC and MIG welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales per specifications.
• Perform calibration procedures and adjust settings to meet accuracy requirements.
• Maintain routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair scales quickly to minimize downtime.
• Inspect scales for wear, damage, functionality; address load cells and displays.
• Keep detailed service and calibration records and certificates.
• Communicate with clients about service needs, estimates, and technical questions.
• Follow safety protocols when working with heavy equipment and electrical components.
• Ensure scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Track tools, parts, and equipment; replenish supplies as needed.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and scale technology advancements.
