Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a driven field-based Territory Sales professional to hunt for new business and build relationships with manufacturers across a dispatching territory in the Richmond, VA and Winchester, VA area.

You will transition from a guaranteed compensation plan to a commission-based structure, with a strong earnings potential once the book of business is established. This role rewards proactive, solution-oriented sales and collaboration with product and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of B2B outside sales experience in packaging.
• A true consultative, value-based sales background — you sell solutions, not the lowest price.
• Proven track record building new business from scratch: cold calling, prospecting, and creating relationships where none existed before.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, cold call, network, and build relationships with manufacturers from scratch; no leads provided, no inherited accounts.
• Win new business and keep it — your account is yours to service and grow long-term; no handoff to another manager.
• Sell without territory walls and chase opportunities wherever they surface.
• Take a consultative, solution-based approach to understand packaging and operational pain points and recommend the right fix.
• Partner with an in-house design, engineering, and manufacturing team to bring custom packaging and automation solutions to life.
• Compete on value against commodity, price-driven competitors.
