Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to sell products and services in a specialized market. You will develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers, regularly visiting them at their site of business or other off-site locations.

You will meet or exceed annual gross margin budgets, handle customer complaints, report market conditions, carry out sales programs, maintain records, and participate in training, trade shows, and meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.

Responsibilities

• Develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers.
• Visiting customers at their site of business or other off-site locations.
• Promote and sell products in assigned territory in compliance with pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales programs and merchandise programs as directed and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
