Job summary

General Motors Company in the United States offers a Summer 2027 Field Sales Operations Internship within the Customer Care and Aftersales division. This 12-week, project-based program exposes students to the District Manager, Parts and Service role while supporting dealers and GM’s parts and service growth.

Interns join one of five regions for hands-on field work, mentorship, and a capstone project, with mid-program immersion in Warren, Michigan.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer internship.
• Willingness to travel extensively within your assigned region.
• Willingness to travel to Warren, Michigan, for a two-week immersion.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with a team.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze field-level information with regional and Central Office teams.
• Identify trends and key drivers of parts and service performance across national, regional, and local markets.
• Develop practical insights and repeatable reporting tools that support field sales effectiveness and dealer growth.
• Support regional initiatives, campaigns, and dealer engagement strategies that grow the parts, accessories, and service business.
• Participate in field visits and shadowing experiences, including planning, dealer meetings, follow-up, and action tracking.
• Translate dealer and customer feedback into observations and recommendations for the regional team.
• Prepare updates communicating project progress, risks, and learnings to leaders and sponsors.
• Complete a capstone project addressing a regional opportunity with analysis and recommendations.
• Present project findings to regional and leadership teams at internship conclusion.
