Job summary

Hartfiel Automation seeks a field-based sales professional to partner with manufacturing customers around Macon, Georgia. You’ll solve real-world problems by applying your technical knowledge and building strong relationships to grow sales and market presence.

You’ll develop product understanding across core lines, collaborate with supplier partners, and conduct 4–5 meaningful customer visits per day while traveling within your territory.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and technical foundation in fluid power, automation, or motion control.
• Preferred degree in Fluid Power Technology, Automation/Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Grow and maintain relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities within your territory.
• Build a strong understanding of our core product lines and develop practical knowledge across additional offerings.
• Collaborate effectively with supplier partners to maximize time and impact during joint sales efforts.
• Maintain a consistent cadence of customer visits (targeting 4–5 meaningful sales calls per day).
• Use our sales funnel process to identify opportunities, prioritize efforts, and drive growth.
• Participate in and help lead weekly funnel and team meetings.
• Keep sales activity and opportunity tracking up to date.
• Complete expense reports and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Apply consultative sales techniques to understand customer needs and recommend thoughtful, application‑based solutions — not just individual components.
• Leverage internal resources, including Product Specialists, to support customer needs and advance opportunities.
• Participate in ongoing sales and product training and apply those learnings in your day-to-day work.
• Support additional projects or responsibilities as needed.
• Follow all quality processes and operate in alignment with Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision.
