Job summary

Townsend Company LLC seeks a Corporate Safety Training Specialist to deliver practical, field-based safety and operating training for employees working with heavy equipment across Townsend operations. You will assess operator competency, coach through skill gaps, and help ensure safe practices on site and in the field.

This role is hands-on and field-focused, not desk-bound, with extensive travel to operating units and field locations throughout Townsend’s multi-state footprint.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering instructor-led, hands-on, or technical training in a workplace environment.
• Strong facilitation, communication, presentation, and coaching skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, field, and hands-on safety and operational training for employees around heavy equipment.
• Conduct practical field evaluations to assess operator knowledge and competency.
• Coach employees through skill gaps and provide retraining or additional instruction.
• Train employees on equipment inspections, safe operation, and emergency procedures.
• Reinforce safe work practices and high-energy hazard controls across operations.
• Support development and continuous improvement of training programs and materials.
• Document required training and competency evaluations.
