Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to develop, audit, and communicate safety programs across our projects. You will work with crews on site to reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations.

As part of the Safety department, you will support incident investigations, hazard assessments, and training while supporting the company’s commitment to safety and quality in North America.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current federal OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, updating, and communication of the SSSP to everyone including subcontractors.
• Collaborate with the craft daily to ensure buy-in of the safety program.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations in the field based on leading indicators.
• Assist with maintaining project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance.
• Assist with first aid and maintain relationships with EMS and clinics.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Complete daily hazard inspections and help implement corrective actions.
• Review work plans and detailed work packs prior to start of work.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, orientation, and client requirements.
