Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to support site safety plans, audit programs, and ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations. You will work under the Project Safety Manager, in the Safety department, and help implement safety procedures on field projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with craft teams, daily hazard inspections, incident investigations, and ongoing safety training. On-site work across North America with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required or preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, and communication of the SSSP to subs and team.
• Collaborate daily with craft to promote safety buy-in and ownership.
• Enforce Stop Work for policy and plan adherence.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators.
• Support staff to execute the SSSP and provide training.
• Maintain project files per OSHA/MSHA and company policies.
• Assist with first aid and relationships with EMS/clinics.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Conduct daily hazard inspections and drive corrective actions.
• Review work plans and packs before work starts.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, and client requirements.
