Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions seeks a Sr Quality Engineer in Idaho Falls, ID to oversee the Project Quality Plan for Navy Spent Fuel Handling and Oklo-Aurora projects. You’ll report to the Quality Manager and drive quality implementation across engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and operations on site.

Requires 7–10+ years in quality, 1 year nuclear experience, and knowledge of NQA-1, ISO-9001, Six Sigma, and NRC Reg Guides; emphasizes safety, audit leadership, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline is highly desirable.
• 7-10+ years of quality or related experience is ideal.
• 1-year nuclear experience is required.
• Knowledge of quality standards such as NQA-1, ISO-9001, Six Sigma, and/or US NRC Reg Guides is preferred.
• Proficient in various problem solving and causal analysis techniques.
• Working knowledge of quality control procedures relating to construction activities is preferred.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied climates and environments.
• Strong work ethic, with initiative and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of understanding of company standards and guidelines.
• Provide updates to employees on client critique results.
• Initiate, implement, and close Corrective Action Reports.
• Facilitate Root/ Apparent Cause Analysis.
• Plan and perform quality assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of District Quality Manuals and project requirements.
• Identify potential quality incidents before they arise.
• Participate in project activities and provide input on quality assurance.
• Assist in internal quality audits and surveillances; review documents and interviews staff.
• Provide administrative support for audits and quality programs.
