Job summary

Hooper in Wisconsin is seeking a Safety Specialist to promote a proactive safety culture across all divisions. You will conduct field observations, assist in incident investigations, and reinforce compliance with safety requirements.

The role emphasizes verification of critical controls for high-energy tasks and support of Site-Specific Safety Plans. Qualified candidates have at least 3 years in construction or industrial safety, a relevant bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), and

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in construction or industrial safety.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and related standards.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn mechanical construction safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety observations; identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Lead or assist incident investigations, including documentation and root-cause analysis.
• Support compliance with corporate, client, and regulatory safety standards.
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and reporting tools.
• Participate in safety meetings, trainings, and site safety initiatives.
• Support implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans and client safety initiatives.
• Exercise stop-work authority to halt unsafe operations and coordinate with teams to restore safe conditions.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
