Job summary

Hooper, a Wisconsin-based electric power and mechanical contractor, seeks a Safety Lead to ensure health and safety compliance across complex projects. You will develop site-specific safety plans, monitor adherence, and audit performance while coordinating with the client and Hooper teams to prevent incidents.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years of construction safety leadership, CSP/CHST/CSMC or equivalent, OSHA training, and a proven ability to stop work when hazards arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or related discipline preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of construction safety leadership on capital projects.
• OSHA competency for crane, derrick, hoist, and excavation standards.
• Safety certifications such as CSP, CHST, or CSMC preferred.
• Strong safety mindset with proactive communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce site-specific Safety Plans.
• Monitor compliance and conduct safety audits on complex sites.
• Lead safety meetings and provide training as requested.
• Stop work to address imminent hazards and re-start after verification.
• Maintain safety records, incident investigations, and KPI reporting.
