Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist I to support and audit Site Specific Safety Plans, ensuring alignment with contract and client safety expectations. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and assist with safety program implementation on field projects across site locations.

The role requires 0-2 years in construction safety, OSHA 30, and willingness to travel. Join a company known for stability and a strong safety culture while advancing in EPC environments.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30.
• Travel and relocate as required.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as a Safety Professional or EMT is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in varying climates and environments.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan to everyone including subcontractors.
• Collaborate with the craft daily to promote buy-in of the safety program.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and plans.
• Plan, prioritize, and problem-solve with operations in the field daily.
• Encourage and advise staff and craft employees to execute the SSSP.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and policy adherence.
• Assist with first aid and maintain relationships with EMS and clinics.
• Assist with KieTrac entry, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Complete daily hazard inspections and support corrective actions.
• Review work plans prior to start of work and assist with safety training.
