Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist I to support the Site Specific Safety Plan on project sites. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and help ensure safety program implementation, compliance with safety manuals, and adherence to OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting in safety plan updates, coordinating with craft teams, performing hazard inspections, and supporting incident investigations. Regular travel/relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years construction safety experience
• OSHA 30 certification required or preferred
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) to all stakeholders
• Collaborate daily with craft in the field to promote safety program buy-in and ownership
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility per policies and regulations
• Plan and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicator trends
• Assist with safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS, and client requirements
