Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Specialist II for field-focused safety program support. You will implement and audit Site Specific Safety Plans, ensuring compliance with contract and client safety expectations on project sites in Northern California.

You will collaborate with operations and craft teams, perform risk assessments, and assist with incident investigations and corrective actions while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of construction safety experience.
• 2 years craft experience preferred.
• First Aid CPR preferred.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to ensure adherence to policies and work plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations based on leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Provide safety training on policies, OSHA/MSHA, NCCER, SIMS and client requirements.
• Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and document incident investigations.
