Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a Sandusky, OH project. You will provide hands-on safety oversight on utility and concrete construction, maintaining a strong field presence and coordinating with craft personnel, operators, subcontractors, and supervision.

The role requires extensive field experience, OSHA 30 certification, and CPR/First Aid. Expect a 50-hour work week on 1st shift with potential overtime as milestones dictate, supporting a fast-paced, mission-critical

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of construction safety experience.
• Data center or large commercial building experience required.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification within past 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for utility and concrete construction operations.
• Maintain a highly visible presence across active work areas.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and drive timely corrective actions.
• Coaching craft personnel on safe work practices.
• Coordinate safety activities with management, subcontractors, and project leadership.
• Participate in incident investigations and follow-up actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and compliance reports.
