Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a hands-on Construction Safety Manager in Sandusky, OH for an 8‑month 1099 contractor role. The position oversees safety for utility and concrete construction, with a focus on hazardous activity, inspections, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced data center project.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in construction safety, data center or large commercial building experience, and active safety credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of construction safety experience at large-scale projects.
• Experience with data center or large commercial building construction required.
• Credentials in safety (BCSP or degree) and current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for utility and concrete construction operations.
• Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas and coach craft personnel.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and JHA/AHA reviews.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and coordinate corrective actions with teams.
• Participate in incident investigations and maintain safety documentation.
