Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Construction Safety Manager in Lebanon, IN for a 1099 contractor role. The candidate will oversee safety for land development and heavy civil work, maintain field presence, and ensure OSHA compliance during site activities including mass excavation and trenching.

Required OSHA 30 Construction Certification and at least 5 years in construction safety, with experience in data center or mission-critical projects preferred.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety activities for site development and land preparation operations.
• Maintain a visible field presence throughout active construction areas.
• Monitor excavations, trenching, grading, and earthmoving activities.
• Provide safety oversight for heavy equipment and mobile equipment operations.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, field observations, and hazard assessments.
• Verify excavation protective systems, access/egress, spoil placement, and site conditions.
• Coordinate safety activities with project supervision and craft personnel.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement timely corrective actions.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Maintain required safety documentation and compliance reports.
