Job summary

Messer Construction Co. is seeking an EGC Safety Coordinator in Kentucky to lead field safety across active projects, partnering with project leaders and trade partners to uphold a zero-injury culture.

The role involves on-site presence, hazard correction, training delivery and incident response while traveling to project locations as needed. You will support pre-task planning, conduct safety orientations, and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, construction management or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and hazard controls.
• Experience supporting safety on active construction projects; GC or self-perform construction ops preferred.
• Ability to communicate expectations clearly and work effectively with project leaders, supervisors, craftworkers and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Partner with safety leadership to implement safety policies, plans and client requirements.
• Maintain a visible field presence; conduct site inspections and document findings.
• Participate in preconstruction planning to identify hazards and establish controls.
• Review daily activities, JSAs, permits and high-risk work plans for compliance.
• Coach workers and trade partners on safe work practices and intervene when unsafe conditions exist.
• Conduct project orientations, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Verify compliance with OSHA requirements, Messer/EGC standards and client expectations.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain safety records and regulatory documentation for projects.
• Coordinate with operations on risks and resources for safe execution.
