Job summary

NorthStar Energy Solutions, a Quanta Services company, seeks an experienced Safety Professional to lead day-to-day field safety for underground and dry utility construction on large data center projects across Texas. You will guide crews, ensure OSHA compliance, and drive a proactive safety culture.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and strong communication and leadership abilities. Travel to multiple sites is required; bilingual EN/ES is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience with underground utilities, civil/sitework, or dry utility construction.
• Minimum 2 years of safety operations on large-scale data center/utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of excavation and trenching safety, utility locating, and underground hazards.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification required; additional safety certifications preferred.
• Experience with underground electric, telecom, fiber, duct bank, or similar infrastructure.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and risk mitigation.
• Strong communication and leadership; able to influence field safety.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular field audits and site inspections to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Monitor and support safe work practices for excavation, trenching, shoring, utility locating, drilling, and duct bank installation.
• Provide real-time safety guidance to field personnel, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure OSHA and client safety requirements compliance.
• Lead daily safety meetings and pre-task planning discussions.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and training records.
• Collaborate with project managers and client representatives to promote safety culture.
• Assist onboarding and ongoing safety training for field personnel.
