Job summary

PowerGrid Services is seeking a Safety Program Specialist to implement and maintain safety programs across field operations in Louisiana. You will ensure regulatory compliance, conduct risk assessments, and investigate incidents.

Training and record-keeping duties are included to promote a safe work environment. The role requires knowledge of OSHA/NFPA/NEC standards, experience with incident investigations, and the ability to develop training materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in safety management or related field preferred.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with utility tasks and settings, overhead voltages.
• Experience facilitating and leading meetings at various levels.
• Experience designing and implementing training programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC and other safety standards.
• Incident investigation procedures including interviewing involved individuals.
• Advanced conflict resolution skills.
• CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens, Bucket Rescue, Tree Canopy Rescue, Defensive Driving, Hazcom, DOT Flagging.

Responsibilities

• Reviews employee work processes in field settings and assesses safety concerns.
• Assist with verification of work task competence.
• Assist with research and development of presentations for employee meetings on safety topics.
• Assist with incident investigations.
• Assist with completion of production tasks during storm restoration or other circumstances.
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve results.
• All other duties as assigned.
