Job summary

United Utility Services in Chalmette, LA seeks a Safety Representative to support safe, compliant operation across our electric distribution teams. You will conduct field observations, lead safety discussions, verify policy compliance, and mentor crew members to recognize hazards and prevent incidents.

This role is located in the Willis/The Woodlands, TX area and involves travel across the assigned region to promote hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and incident prevention for field personnel

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a journeyman lineman in electric distribution.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety practices, and utility safety policies.
• Effective communicator with leadership in field environments.
• Ability to travel extensively within assigned region.
• Basic proficiency with mobile documentation tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Field Safety Observations: conduct regular field observations to assess crew compliance and address unsafe conditions.
• Training & Communication: lead tailgate meetings, daily briefings, and safety stand-downs; reinforce policies.
• Incident Response & Analysis: assist with initial investigations, interviews, and root-cause analysis; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Policy & Regulatory Compliance: verify OSHA/DOT compliance and review JSAs and site safety plans.
• Leadership & Culture Building: promote safety ownership and mentor field employees.
